About Me
Hello all, I am just another person who has quite recently discovered a fondness for cooking and experimenting with food and cuisines from round the world and photographing the results to share them with the world !
About the blog |
I started this blog to combine two of my biggest interests at the moment : cooking and taking pictures of the food I have cooked to share them with the world :). This interest is a direct result of watching several seasons of Master Chef Australia and My Kitchen Rules, and the shows have been instrumental in stirring up my interest in cooking and presenting the food in as visually appealing a form as is possible ! I have a very ordinary kitchen, no fancy equipment or crockery or cutlery, just about suitable for regular home cooking but thanks to Master Chef , I now try to 'plate up' my food as nicely as I can. This blog is not a typical recipe blog or website but it is mainly about sharing the results of these efforts of mine, though in many cases I have included some pointers about how I cooked the dishes as well. I believe anybody who is a novice at cooking but still wants to try out new ideas would find that useful. In return, you could give me tips and tricks from your experiences as well ! This is more like a culinary diary that I am maintaining to document my experiments and experiences. You will find that most of the pictures represent complete meals - main courses and side dishes as well, just as I would like to serve to friends and family. And you will note that the food is almost always vegetarian, except for the use of eggs in some dishes. The recipes for these dishes have been sourced from numerous blogs, TV shows, websites, recipe books and magazines, but most of them have been adapted to suit my cooking style and the ingredients available around me. Sometimes I have tried to use vegetarian proteins as a substitute in a recipe which was originally created with fish or meat in mind. These simple transitions and substitutions can lead you to cook with commonly found ingredients but in a very different way from what you have been doing so far ! |
